The MH-60 Blackhawk was conducting aerial refueling
training when the aircraft experienced an in-flight
emergency resulting in the crash.

Alaska -- U.S. Army officials
have identified two soldiers killed when their large transport
vehicle crashed while heading to a training area in interior
Alaska.
There were
among 17 soldiers on board the vehicle that flipped when the
driver lost control on a dirt road leading to the Yukon Training
Area near the community of Salcha, or about 30 miles (48
kilometers) southeast of Fairbanks, officials said earlier.
Twelve other soldiers were injured.
The two
soldiers killed were Spcs. Jeremy Daniel Evans and Brian Joshua
Snowden, the Army said in a statement late Wednesday.

two US soldiers who died in a crash on Monday have been
identified as 23-year-old Jeremey Daniel Evans, and
22-year-old Brian Joshua Snowden. They both joined the Army
in 2020.

Orange County prosecutors are considering
criminal charges against a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy
who was off-duty when he fell asleep at the wheel in November
2022 and killed two Camp Pendleton Marines sitting in a disabled
car.
While the
crash occurred nearly a year ago, the California Highway
Patrol just turned over the accident report to the district
attorney's office on Sept. 21, with the recommendation that
vehicular manslaughter charges be considered against
Deputy Michael John Miscione, 26.
Three Marines have died at Parris
Island since July, including two instructors at the South
Carolina base, according to the Marine
Corps. Two of the deaths occurred within days of each other last
week.
The service said the causes of death are still under
investigation -- including Staff Sgt.
Courtland Bateswind, 27, who was found in his residence on July 5 --
and none of them occurred during combat or training. Sgt. Yliana
Hernandez, 25, was found Friday and Cpl. Angel Acosta III, 25, was
found Sept. 20, both in their residences...
County authorities have tentatively
identified a man shot in the head and buried in a shallow
desert grave in Arizona nearly 30 years ago as being Sherman
George. ...
The Marine
Corps has identified a student who was found dead in his
vehicle Saturday while assigned to the Marine Corps University
at Quantico,

-- who was studying at the university that houses the service's
War College and College of Enlisted Military Education, among

injured when an aircraft crashed during a joint-nation training
exercise in Australia on Sunday, officials said. The
MV-22B Osprey helicopter carrying 23 Marines went down on
Melville Island around 9:30 a.m. local time (7:30 p.m. EST), 50
miles from the mainland city of Darwin. Five seriously
injured Marines were airlifted to Royal Darwin Hospital
following a search and rescue mission, Northern Territory Chief
Minister Natasha Fyles said during the news conference....

Osprey crash during an exercise in Australia over the
weekend.

and Maj. Tobin J. Lewis, 37, of Jefferson, Colorado, died when
their tiltrotor aircraft went down. There were 20 other

late Thursday when his F/A-18D Hornet fighter jet crashed
near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar has been identified as
Maj. Andrew Mettler. A new release from
the U.S. Marine Corps said the cause of the crash is still under

Three United States Marines stationed at Camp
Pendleton were among four people killed in a violent and fiery car
crash on a California highway early Saturday.
The single-car crash occurred around 2:30 a.m. on the
5 Freeway near Lakewood Boulevard in Downey. The
California Highway Patrol said a 2018 Dodge Charger the victims were
driving collided
with a guardrail and the abutment of a pedestrian overpass.
...Authorities said the ruined front and rear ends of the car were
found overturned about 100 feet apart on the highway... Los
Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner records identified the
deceased as Rodrigro Zermeno Gomez, 21, Daniel Nichols, 26, and

says Kory Wade was found Saturday after a

He was assigned to the 32nd Weapons Squadron, Nellis Air
Force Base, Nevada....
Army investigators are
offering $25,000 for information leading to the arrest or conviction
of anyone involved in the murder of an Army cadet on a Texas
highway.
Cadet Joseph Banales, 22, was shot last month while
driving on a northbound highway in Selma, Texas. He was a senior
Reserve Officer Training Corps cadet at the University of the
Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, according to the Army Criminal
Investigation Division....
An on-campus death of an Air Force Academy cadet is
under investigation, according to an academy news release Tuesday.
Jesse Fimian, 25, was found dead Sunday night by
academy first responders, the academy said in its news release.
Fimian, a cadet 2nd class, from Brookfield, Mass.,
was majoring in political science with hopes of graduating in 2024
and becoming a space operator in the Space Force, the academy

Electronics Technician Navigation 3rd Class Devon Faehnrich, who was

found by a fellow sailor at the shipyard at Newport News,
Virginia, before being taken to a nearby hospital where he was

A 20-year-old Army private
stationed at Fort
Hood was found dead this week, and investigators are examining
claims from her family that the young woman had experienced
harassment from superiors at the Texas military base.
The death of Ana Fernanda Basaldua Ruiz, a combat
engineer with the 1st Cavalry Division, comes just three years after
Vanessa Guillén, a 20-year-old soldier at Fort Hood, was sexually
assaulted and murdered in April 2020. That case caused a national
outcry, exposed systemic problems of sexual assault at the base and
throughout the service, and resulted in federal laws overhauling
military criminal justice....
A 21-year-old soldier was found dead in a burning
car in Honolulu – and her boyfriend has been charged with murder
for allegedly stabbing her in the neck and igniting the vehicle.
Spc. Laau Jordan Laulusa, a member of the Hawaii
Army National Guard, was discovered at about 6:40 a.m. Monday
inside the torched car, which was parked outside Mililani High
School, KITV

HOMESTEAD, Florida — A member of the U.S. Army
Parachute Team has died after sustaining injuries during a training
jump at Homestead Air Reserve Base in Homestead, Florida.
Sgt. 1st Class Michael Ty Kettenhofen died Monday,
the Army said in a news release. He joined the Golden Knights
parachute team in 2020 and had over 1,000 jumps with the Army....
A junior enlisted National
Guard soldier died earlier this month after a physical fitness
test during a drill weekend, according to the service.
Spc. Jaykob Pruitt, 19, of Bennington,
Oklahoma, served as a cavalry scout with 1st Squadron, 180th Cavalry
Regiment, 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team. He collapsed after
completing the two-mile run portion of the Army Combat Fitness Test,
or ACFT, on March 4. CPR was administered, but he was pronounced
dead after being transported to a local hospital.
BANGKOK — A U.S.
Army officer has died while on temporary duty in Thailand to
take part in a major multinational military exercise, U.S. and Thai
officials said Wednesday. No foul play was suspected, they said.
Maj. Andrew Cotter had been participating in Cobra Gold, a training
and coordination exercise with the United States and host Thailand
joined by five major Asian allies, with additional participation by
23 other countries. More than 7,000 military personnel are taking
part...

we’ve made an arrest in your daughter’s case, Private First-Class
Amanda Gonzales," Gloria Bates told ABC News, recalling the
conversation she had with an FBI agent.
Gonzales is Michael’s stepdaughter who

Department of Justice said Shannon L. Wilkerson, a former member of
the armed forces who was discharged from active duty in 2004, was
arrested on Thursday. He is accused of murdering 19-year-old
Gonzales when she was stationed at a former U.S. Army base in Hanau,
Germany, in 2001. Gonzales was working as a cook on the base. When
she did not report for work, soldiers broke down the door to her
barracks and found her body....
A soldier helping with a convoy breakdown was struck
and killed on an Oregon highway, police said. Gonzalo
Martinez III, a 29-year-old
National Guardsman from Cleveland, Texas, and another soldier
exited a Humvee on U.S. Highway 30 on Sunday, Feb. 19, Oregon State
Police said in a Feb. 20 news release....

veteran Navy SEAL died Sunday after a mishap
during military free-fall training in
Arizona, Navy officials told USNI News.The mishap happened when Chief
Special Warfare Operator Michael T. Ernst
was participating in parachute training at

Tucson, according to Naval Special Warfare
Command in Coronado, Calif. Ernst, who was
assigned to an East Coast-based naval

A Black Hawk military helicopter crash has left 'no
survivors' after plummeting from the air and bursting
into a ball of fire on an Alabama Highway on Wednesday
afternoon. The aircraft went down just before 3pm in
the median of Highway 53, near Burwell Road, in the town
of Harvest about a half hour north-west of Huntsville.
Footage from the scene showed thick, black smoke
billowing from the crash site. The fire was quickly
extinguished....

E-3) Lucian Johan Woods died on Jan. 23 at a private residence in
Newport News, Virginia, where the USS George Washington is

Pair of Shootings Rocks Special Forces Community at
Fort Bragg
...Staff Sgt. Jimmy Lee Smith III was pronounced dead
at the scene Wednesday in Raeford, North Carolina. It is unclear
what led to the shooting. A spokesperson with the Hoke County
Sheriff's Office did not return a request for comment ahead of this

...Private Brian Jones, a trainee attending an Army
air traffic control operator course at Fort Rucker, has been in

Brown was listed on the academy's football roster,
stating he was a sophomore from Lake Charles, Louisiana, reported

"Hunter was a standout offensive lineman on the
Falcon football team and was well-respected in his squadron," Lt.
Gen. Richard M. Clark, U.S. Air Force Academy superintendent, said
in a statement. "The entire U.S. Air Force Academy mourns his loss,
and our hearts and condolences are with his family, his squadron,
and all who were touched by this incredible young man."
Brown was assigned to Cadet Squadron 16 and was
pursuing a major in management, a minor in French, and had completed
back-to-back winning seasons in 2021 and 2022 with Falcon football.
Brown graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy Preparatory School
in May 2021....
Briana C. Kromer, P.F.C. currently serving in the
United States Army stationed at Ft. Sill Oklahoma, passed away
suddenly on Sunday, December 25, 2022, while home for the holidays
visiting her family in Andreas, Pennsylvania. She was 21 years of
age.
