CDR RICHARD DAVID MORROW

On September 11, 1978, the Central Identification Lab-Hawaii (CILHI, now DPAA) identified the remains of Commander Richard David Morrow, missing from the Vietnam War.

Commander Morrow, who joined the U.S. Navy from California, served with Attack Squadron 196, embarked aboard the USS Constellation (CVA-64). On November 2, 1967, he piloted an A-6A Intruder on a mission against enemy targets near Hanoi, North Vietnam. During the mission, the Intruder crashed and CDR Morrow was killed in the incident. Hostile presence in the area prevented recovery efforts immediately following the crash. In 1978, the Vietnamese government repatriated remains to the U.S. which were later identified as those of CDR Morrow.

Commander Morrow is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
