Aviation Structural Mechanic First Class Albert Eugene Lee, who joined the U.S. Navy from Ohio, served aboard the USS Coral Sea (CVA 43). On February 16, 1972, the Coral Sea was in the Gulf of Tonkin, off the coast of South Vietnam. AMS1 Lee was seen at the rear of the vessel, climbing over the deck rail and jumping into the sea. A search was initiated, but his body could not be located following the incident. Today, Aviation Structural Mechanic First Class Lee is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
