COL ROBERT WARREN HAGERMAN

Return to Service Member Profiles

On March 7, 1986, the Central Identification Laboratory-Hawaii (CILH, now DPAA) identified the remains of Colonel Robert Warren Hagerman, missing from the Vietnam War.

Colonel Hagerman joined the U.S. Air Force from Arizona and was a member of the 467th Tactical Fighter Squadron. On November 6, 1967, he piloted an F-105D Thunderchief (tail number 62-4286) on a combat mission over enemy territory in Vietnam. Colonel Hagerman's aircraft was downed by a surface to air missile during the mission, and he was killed in the incident. Enemy presence in the area prevented ground investigations of the crash site. In December 1985, Col Hagerman's remains were returned to U.S. custody, and they were officially identified the next year.

Colonel Hagerman is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
