SP4 LURAL LEE BLEVINS III

On July 25, 1975, the Central Identification Laboratory–Thailand (CILT, now DPAA) identified the remains of Specialist 4 Lural Lee Blevins III, missing from the Vietnam War.

Specialist 4 Blevins entered the U.S. Army from Pennsylvania and was a member of Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 320th Infantry Regiment. On August 16, 1968, he was an artillery forward observer with a platoon conducting a combat operation in Thua Thien Province, South Vietnam, when it came under enemy attack. He was killed by enemy fire during the engagement, and the tactical situation prevented the recovery of his body at the time. However, in 1969, human remains were recovered from this battle site that U.S. investigators eventually identified as those of SP4 Blevins.

Specialist 4 Blevins is memorialized on the Courts of the Missing at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific.
