that his real name is Fred Barnes, BUT when
challenged, he typically says he is Harold L McEachern who may be a real
aviator and may be his brother-in-law (I think he's pumped him for
stories and now lives his live on-line). Claims Navy Captain, aviator,

And
"shock treatment" is needed
for the "sheeterman" haters.
I see when I take two days of fishing.
The forum thread "Rush Limbaugh
Blames Clinton" has flowed with
Rush"s body secretions and
covered those that rush to his charged
rhetoric. Such sadness binds his
followers.
NOTE: "sniper, still needs to
"exceed beyond his
expectations" Try!, sniper, Try!.
Sniper, you do have some capabilities
on searching the Internet. Only you
need more facts, details, dates, etc.
Of course, some persons have a small
"brain pan" and they have to
excrise the brain to increase it's
size.
So here goes.. Maybe this will help..
May 1950 went to ACS.(aviation cadet
school). 13 weeks, than on to Navy
Flight training at Pensacola, Fa Sept.
1950. Graduated May 1951. On to
Weapons School at Corpus Christi, Tx.
In Sept. 1951 sent to USS BonHomme
Richard (cv-31) carrier composite
squadron VC-61 of Korea. Made 27
missions flying F9F-2B Panther jet.
PLEASE NOTE: "Promoted to LT.(j.g)
Dec. 1951. That comes from
"exceeding beyond your
expecations" Dec. 1951
transferred to 1st Marine Div.
Aircraft Wing K-3 air base at PaHang,
Korea. on exchange program from USS
BonHomme Richard. (the carrier
returned to the states)
The Navy Cross resulted from aerial
flight
actions on AUGUST 5, 1952..The NC
medal request form was approved by
Commander 1st Marine Air Wing, and
Captain of USS BonHomme Richard.
Certificate signed by Secretary of
Navy, Dan A. Kimball, and the
President of the United States, Harry
S. Truman on Dec. 12, 1952. And
"awarded" by
Pres. Dwight D. Eisenhower at Moffett
Field, Ca on Nov. 6, 1953.
At the awards ceremony, there were 14
others to receive the Navy Cross,
Silver Star, Distinguished Flying
Cross, and other medals. Three of the
14 were, Maj. John Bolt, Marine Corp
Jet Ace, Lt. Guy P. Bordelon,
Navy(prop) Ace, Col. John Glenn,
(former astronaut, US Senator.
Now lets see if you can put all these
dates, details and a little search is
required to come up with who I am.
Little more military duties here..
January 1953 transfeered to VC-61
aboard USS Princton(cv-37) made 76
missions till end of Korean war- July
27, 1953. Left VC-61 squadron in Jan.
1954. to Agana NAS, Guam flying P2V
Neptunes for Typhoon hunters. Plus
many more duties in the 24 yers.
Oh! Bye the way,, would you happen to
be a fan of Bob Hope. If so, do you
have a copy of his television show for
Nov. 16, 1953.?
Most all of the 14 Navy Cross
recipients was on this show.. I'm
second from the left on the front
row.,
Have a good day. SIR..

I have been informed, my name...Fred
J. Barner as been posted on your web site.. P.O.W Network. Org as a
"phonie/wannbe," under your classification, accusing
me as a military fraud. After reading all the applied
information you have listed, stating that I'm (claiming) to
have won the Navy Cross, former Navy Captain, former Navy avaitor,
and purchasing various military uniform items online, and using a
alias.. Fred Barnes.. All of this is false information
I have NEVER used ANYTIME, ANYWHERE
the name Barnes.
And if that isn't all, you showing I
"never" served in the military (Navy) service.
1). For the record... I'm a former military..U.S. Navy.. And I
proudly served those years and was "Honorable" discharged,
and have the military records to prove it. Having been
presented with a "Certificate of Recognition" for my
service during the period.. 2 September 1945 - 26 December 1991, and
signed by Donald Rumsfeld, Secretary of Defense, and a
"Letter of Appreciation", for my military contribution
during the Korean war, signed and sent to me from Kim
Daw-jung, President of the Republic of So. Korea, only adds to
the fact I did serve in the U.S. Navy..
2). NOTE: I have
"NEVER" appeared in a private or public meetings, or
before any group, nor in writing that I have been recommended,
awarding the Navy Cross, nor have I bought, stole, borrowed, traded
for, or worn on any military (Navy) uniform the Navy Cross.
3). Who ever is feeding
you this information, and I think I know who the
"clowns" are. These several individuals have a
vindictive grudge against me for what was said several months ago on
their web site. They would be using names as..
"A4sForever, BigIron, Catmando, Heyjoe, Ksufly, Tex Hill,
Snake020, and others. Several of these webs site members have
spent a great deal of time doing the..Google" thing..my name,
coming up
with anything they can apply to their
ongoing feeding freezy... Their day will come in a court of
law, defendents in a defamation/libel lawsuit. And any third
party like your 2005 lawsuit by the WW11 veteran.
I know where these clowns came up
with their opinions that I won the Navy Cross. Several years
ago on a "Rant and Rave" web site, one of the members
posted a topic.. "Limbaugh blames Clinton." It was
reference to what happens when someone gets credit for what another
person was recommended for. I made a reply to the
tropic, to a similar situation that taken place during the Korean
war, when two Navy pilots with the same last name serving in
the Korean war zone, whereas the Navy made an error on who was
entitled to receive the Navy Cross. My efforts to post..
"cut and paste" photo's and text, restricted
material at the time on the two pilots,
"failed" to post on the web site. Should the
"cut and paste" photo's and text would have been shown, it
would have listed the Navy Cross winner as Lt. (jg) Harold O.
McEachern, and not the other McEachern. With no photo's and
text being shown, only the written words I had posted, making it
appear I had claimed the Navy Cross. When I noticed the failed
"cut and paste" attempt, I couldn't edit my post, as
rules of the web site prevented any editing.
4). These (one)members
found this posted article, and declared me a phoney. I made a
reply to one of these members, and here is
my reply to him..
"A4sForever, Cannot take
credit for the NC. However, it's unusual to find two Harold
McEachern's in the Navy, and serving in Korea at the same time. More
appts to be a Smith or Jones..
The U.S. Navy got a little mixed up
here, as they often did. You can no doubt agree with
that. They had Harold O. McEachern, being with the 1st
Marines, and he..
Harry L. as the Navy helicopter pilot that did the daring night time
rescue in No. Korea on May 5, 1952 from that mountain side.
I think his duty
station was ona Navy Scow some 10 miles off Wonsan area, performing
rescues for down pilots. I met him at NAS North Island in
1960. I ask him to share the Navy Cross, which
the Navy claimed he wasn't the recipient for a brief time."
However, the members on the web
site didn't except my reply as having any truth, and I was
"banned" from posting and label as a lier, phoney..
5). The last time I wore my
Navy uniform was the day I left the Navy. The uniforms were
stored in boxes, and since have been discarded or used for rags.
The ribbons/medals (eight of them) were put into a small box.
They are still in the box, aged and discolored, not likely to be
worn a uniform again.
6). With reference to my buying
military items online, I have bought several squadron patches,
aircraft carrier ship patches. and shore bases patches that I served
with. Also bought a "old Galley coffeee mug" that
came from a Navy ship during the Korean war, plus a couple old
vintage G-1 leather flight jacket.. One to give to my grandson, the
other one I sold on ebay for a profit. These are the only
items that can bee related as military items..
7). So, now comes the
important legal matter of this mail... Does it go forward, or end
now?
Should it go to a court to prove that
I did not "claim" to have won a Navy Cross, and proven not
guilty, the aftermath will result in a defamation/libel
lawsuit. A lawsuit having posted my name on the internet, all
parties, including the web site (individuals) who sent you the false
email information, alone with others who seem to have enjoyed
getting their kicks. Those will be expensive kicks, I'm sure..
I will listen to your thought on how
you wish to proceed.

He pulled this info off the DBS Forum

Same thing happened on a Political
Forum (he really likes fishing and political forums it
seems). He deleted this post on the 27th, but someone quoted him so it's
still there:
Hey Alpha, Remember the nerve endings
can be short-circuited in a 77 year old body. Since you mentioned
ranching, or enjoying the feeding trough. I'll explain..
I was born and raised in Missouri, went to
U.S.Navy flight training in 1949, and three combat tours during the
Korean war, and two during the Vietnam war. Retired from Navy in 1974, and
moved back to Missouri. Wife's parents own a 2180 acre ranch in
southeast Kansas, and when they died, she inherited the property.
Nothing for her to do, but moved back to the ranch. I don't do any
ranching or any farming. We lease the acreage to three ranchers and
farmers, who pays us very "well" for the use of the land. I
just spend the money from the land that I don't care about. I really
don't like Kansas.

And from yet another forum:
Skeeterman
12/04
Here goes... I'm not telling my age, but I flew Navy jets during the
Koreran war from aircraft carriers.. But the old body still feel
young, and young at heart.
I have been seriously looking to buy a ATV. Wife and I live here in
southeast Kansas on a few hundred acres, and I have been using my old
1949 Fordf 8N tractor to beat around the ranch.. I think it's time to
go modern, and get me one of those fancy ATV's.
The main factor for the use of a ATV will be to cover the land, we
don't have any mountains to climb. We do have some hills, and they may
be only 50 feet high, but nothing rugged. May want to buy some
accessories like a snow blade, plow to do the garden, and hook a
trailer on it to haul items. So the ATV would have to be in the
"Utility" class.
Now what I need from you pros here, is you would recommend. I like the
Honda's, Yamaha's, but subject to other brands.
So let's hear from you guys.. Sell me a ATV...
Thanks.

Then he created his own website to lash

Defamatory/Libel Lawsuit
Since March 2007, my lawyers have spent about $22,000.00 of my money
gathering all the information---real names and addresses, background
information of members from www.vintageleatherflightjacket.com,
www.airwarriors.com,
and www.p.o.w.network.com,
and the web site owners for a future 3.75 million dollar lawsuit
resulting in their defamatory, libel remarks referring to me as a
fake, phony, military officer on the Internet. The time duration came
from having to get court papers filed to obtain the real names and
addresses from web site programmers, and Internet Service Providers.
This lawsuit serves it's purpose. These three web sites provoke all
members, allowing my name and address for all to read, when there is
no truth to the slandering postings on these discussion forums. One of
the radical individuals---A4sForever from the Washington state area on
the airwarriors.com site, made reference to the other members,
"he thought I was a phony", and the feeding frenzy
mushroomed from there to a wholesale search committee. One individual
from Indiana on the Vintage Leather Flight Jacket site ---which I had
been a member (Skeeter) of VLFJ for many years, posting my first and
last name. Another member from North Carolina--a worker at some county
court there verified the fact, and the search was on who could come up
with the most information. My membership at airwarriors came under a
username--Skeeterman. The name--Skeeter came as my call-sign during my
Navy flight days right before the Korea war and afterward. The name--Skeeterman
came from being a owner of a Skeeter bass boat.
From November 2006 and up to mid-March 2008, the members---some 16
individuals of airwarriors have spent I would estimate over 200 hours
regarding their desire to label, defame, slander my reputation, and
anything else to get their kicks from their searches.
My Kansas City lawyer--- who is right up town on Internet laws, will
take the owners of p.o.w.network to the jurors first, who has my name,
city, state listed on their website--wall of shame, as a phony,
impostor, having won the Navy cross (which has no truth to it at all,
and purchasing various uniforms (brown leather flight jackets) on the
Internet. These two---p.o.w.network owners would be the first to face
a judge and juror on why and who gave p.o.w.network the evidence to
post such false information. On the witness stand they would be asked
who sent this information, and why. With a 2 million dollar judgment
suit facing the two, I'm positive they will reveal who the individuals
at Airwarriors web site gave this information---one of those
members---Tex Hill, BigIron, or bunk22---(real names withheld here.)
With this truthful information, this would allow the St.Louis lawyer
to proceed with the 1.75 million lawsuit against airwarriors owner(s),
and Vintage Leather Flight Jacket owner(s), moderators, and their
members who contributed to all this defamatory/libel attacks. Members
from these two discussion forums are---A4sForever, Catmando, BigIron,
bunk22, (bunk22 who has spread my name all over the internet, such as
a Corvette, Mustang, and baseops web sites), and Carno, MasterBates,
Heyjoe, Ksufly, Snake020, Tex Hill, fc2spyguy, HercDriver, Brett327,
Birdman1,Flash, and BigRed389 from airwarriors. Members---Vcruiser,
bfrench, and bgbdesign, plus 12 others (not listed here)from Vintage
Leather Flight Jacket site. Members of airwarriors with usernames---Catmando
and Flash made suggestions to have my name added to the p.o.w.network
site. In terms of defamatory laws, this is called "inciting"
to urge others to make the call.
When in the court, my lawyers will show the judge and jurors, and
these "worthless than tits on a boar hog" defendants, and
their lawyers my 377 pages of military records. Plus former U.S. Navy
personnel who can testify of my time in the Navy. At this time, I'm
sure these individuals faces will have a look of "how much
money" they will pay out for their attacks and slander remarks,
and how they will pay the large sums they will require to defend them.
From my point of view, this will be one large court case for the news
media to follow. Who knows where this case will lead to in the future
on people attacking, defamatory/libel remarks to hurt one's
reputation.

Here's the original posts he made that
caused many to question his story (these are still in the open and are
unedited (he cannot change them because he is banned):
The New G-1 Leather Flight Jacket
This is my first post here. So, here goes. Received my
gold wings in April 1950 at P.Town. Also was issued a M422a leather
flight jacket, the last of the old WWII models. Between that time
(1950) and 24 years later, I've collected seven G-1 flight jackets. I
still have them all, although they are a little small for the old body
of today.
I came upon a photo today of one might call a new G-1. A lot different
than the G-1 of past. This one lacks the mouton collar, knit cuffs and
waistbands.
Does anyone know if this is a new revision of the old G-1.
Thanks,
call sign.. Skeeter.
Although the years have past, the lingering, waking
up at night from a nightmare of those combat missions in Korea from
1951-1953, is not the best for one to remember. The flak fields in
Korea where notorious for disabling a aircraft, and if you were
lucky to get back to the carrier, one had to deal with a pitching
deck in total darkness, and many times a cold frozen icy landing.
Three tours of the Korea war taught you how to avoid dying, and just
maybe you had a lucky streak.
Than, when you thought it (war) would never come again, Vietnam was
your destnation..two tours, and trying to avoid the Sam's, if you
were lucky again. So, sea stories (or in combat terms)..survival
missions, is not likely remembered as in flight log book.
During the old days in Naval aviation, the call
signs were given my other pilots or flight personnel. You did not
pick your own call sign. During my flight training flight at P.
Town, summer 1949, the mosquitoes were so bad, we were swatting all
the time. Some of the other trainee's started calling me "Skeeter".
And that became my call sign.
I had a another call sign during the first tour in Korea 1951.
"Chop-Chop".
One morning, rushing to finish breakfast, and fight quarters was
called. I came into the ready room with my mouth full, and the
squadron commander ask why I was chopping so much. The other pilots
said, there is "Chop-Chop".
Generally, the call sign was something one had done.

To follow-up on the new G-1 or whatever it will be labeled. I called
an old Admiral bud out on Point Loma, Ca on this. He called some one
on NAS North Island, Ca, and they told him there was a new modern
version that was being issued. He didn't know all the details, but
would find out and let me know...
I'm a member of the Vintage Leather Flight Jacket group, and those
old 1950s-1970s G-1 are worth a lot of money. In fact, I have five
from the 1950s that I could sell on ebay and get approx. $1500 to
$2500 each as they are old squadron and name tag patched.
Hey, Gentlemen.. Where is this "boat"
crap come in? In the U.S. Navy, it is know as a "ship".
Ships are made of steel, boats are made of wood or fiberglass. At
least we old Navy aviators called it that. And no Air Boss better
not hear the word...boat from anyone.
Carrier landings during daylight hours are
relativity easy. That is, after one has done several hundred.
Probably could close your eyes and get it aboard.
Click on pictures to view video.
The "Night Landings".. Well that's another story all
different... You might as well have your eyes closed. During the
Korean war, all ships had "black out". The carrier
deck was total darkness. Only the illuminated LSO paddles was
visible.. We are now talking disaster about to happen.
Here is a video with at least a outline of the carrier run.
MB, The Air Boss was very specific about loading
up a flight jacket with patches. Three was the limit, plus the
name tag...
Upper left arm.. Carrier Air Wing patch.
Upper right arm. Task Force 77 (combined with carrier name)
Right chest. Squadron patch.
However, if you flew fighter escort for another squadron, you
could have their patch under the name tag. That is why the Navy
had a uniform regulation.. the name tag had to be located
7-1/2" above the edge of the pocket flap, and 2-1/4"
from the leather edge at the zipper. This allowed for a patch of
5" high for that area.
During my time in Vietnam. One could wear
a flight jacket from all the squadrons the pilot had been
billeted.
Most pilots were different, as was myself. We had a G-1 for each
ship and squadron we were in.
About the time (1974) I retired,
these regulations were thrown out the porthole.
borinf2d, On the old straight deck carriers,
the LSO (no lights) was port side aft at the fantail. The
angled deck carriers, it's midship port side.
