Summer Hiatus
« on: March 14, 2007, 05:24:33 pm »

Ok everyone Nebraska Detachment of Black Omega will be out of the state after May of this year until September. Glowstick (my wife), and Matt will be leaving for basic training. Glowstick will be attending OCS when she gets back for a Year at Camp Ashland.  I myself have also re-enlisted and will be going "down range" to do some training and won't be back until september roughly as well. Wizard will be spending his time this summer at Blackwater Training Center, Combat Shooting and Tactics, Strategos, and Diamondback Tactical Training Center getting LE/SWAT Instructor Certifications as well. Just a heads up.

I am sending this to inform you that Nicholas Maas, listed on your web site, has again made claims similar to the ones listed on your web site.  He made these claims on 22 March 2007, while attending an airsoft training event at the University of Nebraska , claimed to be a Ranger, and other false claims.

During our annual Airsoft lab I was approached by Nicholas Maas.  He identified himself as a certified SWAT instructor and said he served as a captain in the 75th Ranger Regt. in Afghanistan.  I was offended to find out he was a fraud.

Maas has had two previous failures at completing basic. Also lied about having asthma on his military application.

Camp Ashland

The 209th Regiment is home to 1st Battalion, 209th Noncommissioned Officers Academy and the 2nd Battalion, General Studies. The Regiment is located on Camp Ashland, approximately 30 miles west of Omaha Nebraska. The mission of RTI-NE includes developing officers and NCO's in the National Guard of the United States and the US Army Reserve. Camp Ashland is a modernized and revitalized National Guard facility located near Ashland, in Eastern Nebraska.

He claims to have enlisted both his wife and himself and was adamant that they were going to boot camp in May, but they're both still in Omaha. She's still working and supporting both of them, and he's still unemployed. STILL CLAIMING RANGER - talks about a field C-section and removing bullets from fellow Rangers with a knife. Also claims killing is "detached."

Served April 6, 1998 to May 5, 1998 and January 17, 2002 to March 8, 2002

ONLY award, Marksman w/Auto Rifle.
Transcript of court martial: not in file

Discharged a Private from National Guard and Army.

Well I already Talked with  ......   from the    .......  about this matter. I never once mentioned anything about any of that, and merely said that I was re-enlisting. Which I am, along with one of my team mates and my wife who are enlisting as well. I think what happened is someone saw what was posted on your site and got their feathers ruffled about us conducting some of the training there and said something to try and get me into trouble. But I'm sure you won't believe me or any of the people on team who were there, as they will i'm sure be able to attest that i never said anything of the kind. I can see this is going to be a never ending battle of people who don't like me or have a problem with me finding your website and trying to say that i'm telling lies again to get back in to trouble. I guess I can just plan on explaining myself and trying to dig myself out of holes for the rest of my life because of that....funny thing i have to explain myself to a couple of people who really have nothing to do with my life but seem to like constantly be in it.
 .....

Also the only time i even mentioned anything about rangers was when we were training them in CQB I told them that the tactics we were teaching them were straight out of the ranger handbook instead of the 7-8....which they were.

I guess Nick thinks we are all "stupid", and that he can get a way with these fraudulent things . . . far his sake, I hope he and I never cross paths again -- his disrespect for true soldiers, especially Rangers, is truly appalling and unbelievable to me.

I am writing this as a letter of apology. I have claimed to be things that I am not. I was never a ranger, nor an officer in the united states army. I have recieved no awards, or commendations. There have been many versions of  things that I have said about myself from other people, I will state the facts here. I was a E-1 in the National Guard and discharged as an E-1, I again joined the Army and was discharged again as an E-1. That is the total sum of my military career. I am deeply sorry for all of the inconveinence this has caused, and again i apologize.

Sincerely,

Nicholas Maas

MAAS NOW CLAIMS HE DIDN'T WRITE THE APOLOGY IN THE FIRST PLACE!!

AIRSOFT MANAGEMENT called Nick Maas and has barred Maas from certain AirSoft events.

AirSoft management has a "good upstanding man who believes in integrity, honesty, and doing what is right, and will not tolerate anything less from those associated with his AirSoft events."

NOTE:  His use of retired military officers (other AirSoft participants) and active duty soldiers as "references" to his false claims of active duty and Ranger status were the reason for the ban.
