George Cleveland Duncan

George C. Duncan served as a Brigadier General in the United States Marine Corps. He served in the Korean War, including the breakout from the frozen Chosin. He also served in Vietnam during 1968 and 1971. He is now retired as a Colonel from the United States Marine Corps. Colonel Duncan was awarded the Nobel peace medal of 1988 along with ninety one of the other United Nations forces for their contribution to peace after the end of hostilities of the Korean conflict.

Colonel Duncan was a prisoner of war in Vietnam. He was held for nineteen months before he escaped. Colonel Duncan holds a PhD in Science from Rice University and a Masters degree in Civil Engineering from UCLA. He is a noted author of many books on the war in Vietnam, as well as many short stories and articles.
