NOTE: This DD214 appears to have been altered from
the original by inserting the remarks highlighted in yellow.
The Republic of Vietnam Campaign MEDAL is issued for 6 months direct combat support or service in South Vietnam between March 1 1961 and March 28, 1973. The Presidential Unit CITATION is written inaccurately as well. SEE FOIA REPLY BELOW |

This is the result of an FOIA for records on Jack
Kazanjian received from St. Louis in March 2002.
NOTE: Rank is noted as an enlisted E3, NOT an Officer. MOS is noted as Organizational Supply Specialist - NOT a B-52 Crew Chief. FOUR YEARS in Guam and Thailand is NOT NOTED. NO Vietnam service nor medals are noted. ONLY ONE medal is authorized.
On December 5, 2002 Kananjian accepted (along with 300 other veterans) a "State (of New Jersey) Vietnam Service Medal" in a public ceremony. The request only needed to be accompanied by a DD214. The medal presentation was coordinated by G. Natasha Zoe, PAO-VA. |
