FYI, I have located and contacted the Commander of the 3rd Bn 75th Rgr Regt --  As I mentioned, he was in command during the time that Ratley states that that unit was his last duty assignment.  I expect answer sometime today.  My friend is Col (Ret) Robert Hensler.

Just heard from Ranger Hensler regarding Sitting Bull and his claim to have been with 3rd Bn 75th -----

 +++++++++++++
The other guy, Ratley, never heard of him. In Feb '89 there was only one Ltc. in 3/75 and that was me -- the battalion commander! I commanded from July '87 through March '89 and there was no such person as a field grade officer in the battalion. There also was no one by that name and rank on the Regimental staff either to the best of my knowledge (one block down the street). Who the H are these jerks??  Hope this helps. Feel free to use my name, etc. in exposing this character.

Thanks, I needed a laugh this afternoon so I was happy to see this DD-214.  Should go right up there with Jimmy Carter's Nobel Prize.

How to say this without hurting anyone's feelings, Squatting Bear, er sorry about that, Standing Bear, is full of it.  Now that I have said that I will get serious.....

I'd look closely to see if he is even eligible for membership in the VFW, I don't know the eligibility requirements for VFW membership, but if it is based on his DD-214 that I received I'd check it out.

Ratley is not a member of the Special Forces Association, he is not a member of the Special Operations Association, he is not listed as having been in MACV-SOG or any of the Command and Control units.  He is not listed in any of the standard SF reference books....
