Subject: Another Fraud

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I have recently learned that the most decorated enlisted soldier from the state of Missouri, Melvin Gainer...  If you conduct a yahoo search of "Melvin Gainer", it will list web sitesite "Find a Grave".  Once inside you can read all about this WWII and Korean hero.  I would like to point out that he is still alive.

A few months ago the website said that he was a MOH winner.  Today it says he won the French MOH.  French LOH(?) is a Meritorious Service Award not a Valor award.  It also says that he was recommended for the MOH by John Ashcroft?  This is BS as well, but he stands by the claim, even has a copy of the recommendation to prove it....

States that he gave the eulogy at Michael Blassie's funeral.  I found a website for Blassie that listed  the program for his funeral and Blassie's mother, sister and brother were the only ones who gave eulogies....

Porkchop Hill-He admitted a year ago to another vet that he wasn't in the Army at that time.  However he visited Porkchop Hill on a religious retreat a few years ago.

His picture is on the wall at the VA hospital in nearby Poplar Bluff, Missouri claiming to be the most decorated enlisted soldier and they have recently been notified of his false claims.  I believe the picture is still there today.

Several vets have brought this issue up and he still makes the same claims or changes them slightly.  What can be done?  The fact that he continues these lies and has been a preacher for years only adds fuel to the fire.
