THOSE CLAIMING MEDAL OF HONOR
NOTE: In 1996 HLI Lordship
Industries (at the time, the OFFICIAL USG contractor for the Medal of
Honor) admitted selling THREE HUNDRED unauthorized medals for $75.00
each from 1991-1994. They were fined $80,000. NOT ALL of those medals
have been recovered. Offenders in possession of an
unauthorized medal can be arrested, fined (up to $10,000) and
jailed
(up to a year). It is the only military medal that CANNOT be bought,
sold, bartered, traded, collected, auctioned, exchanged.... EVERY
Medal of Honor is awarded by act of Congress.
Less than 150 REAL Medal
of Honor recipients are alive today.

=======================================
Please
pass this information along in response to the inquiry regarding Mr. FRANK
TI NEFF.
I
greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy
SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your
questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not
affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government
organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed free of
charge, as a service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL Teammates
who gave their lives in service to our nation… men who truly earned
the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no longer able to
stand forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their
TEAMs.
If
the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT
find a listing in the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the Present Day) for
anyone named FRANK T
NEFF. I
have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with similar
pronunciations without finding any that might be applicable.
Unless
he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an action
for which there would be court documentation) since his claimed
attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the information you have
provided, I can state conclusively
that FRANK T NEFF
has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a
Navy SEAL or a Navy UDT “Frogman”.
When members
of the Naval Special Warfare community meet others who claim similar
service, but whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational
exchange of information that establishes the bona fides of each to the
other. There is no set formula for this exchange, nor for the
information that is exchanged, but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL
Naval Special Warfare members can ALWAYS spot a phony as a result of
this exchange. If you have an opportunity to speak with the man at some
point in the future, I might suggest that you to ask Mr. NEFF
these questions:
(1) Since
there is no listing in the SEAL Database for the name you are currently
using, WHAT NAME DID YOU USE
during SEAL training?
(2) What was
his BUD/S Class Number?
(NB: No SEAL ever forgets the class number he shouted all day long,
every day, for 6 months)
(3) Where
did his training take place? (NB: Training has been conducted at several
locations over the years; different portions in different places)
(4) When
did he graduate from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training?
(i.e. a specific graduation DATE)
There
are many other questions which could be asked to further establish the
level of veracity or untruth regarding his claims, such as asking for
the names of other members of his graduating class, but those basic
questions are absolutes. The answers
to those questions are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real SEAL will
gladly provide that substantiating information upon request, although
you will be very likely be told that the information is either
classified or sensitive and cannot be provided, or you will be given
some totally bogus information.
No
one gets to the SEAL Teams without first completing BUD/S Training.
There are records of every man who has qualified for the title of
“SEAL”; there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but
there are NO secret SEALs… we know them all. Thank you for your
assistance in upholding the honor, integrity, and reputation of the
Navy’s SEAL Teams.

Claims NAVY SEAL
|
I
greatly appreciate your interest in upholding the honor of the US Navy
SEAL Teams, and your search for the TRUTH. Before answering your
questions I must make clear that I am a private individual, not
affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or any other government
organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters are performed as a
service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL Teammates who gave their
lives in service to our nation… men who truly earned the right to the
title "US NAVY SEAL" but who are no longer able to stand
forward in defense of their honor, their reputations, and their TEAMs.
If the name you provided
is spelled correctly, I do NOT find a listing in the SEAL
Database (end of WWII to the Present Day) for anyone named DAVID
NEWINGHAM. I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and
names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be
applicable. In point of fact there is not even one single entry in all
of the SEAL Database for the last name "NEWINGHAM".
Unless he has undertaken the
unlikely action of a legal name change (an action for which there would
be evidence in the form of court documentation) since his claimed
attendance at BUD/S training, and based upon the information you have
provided, I can state conclusively that DAVID NEWINGHAM has NEVER
COMPLETED SEAL training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL
or a Navy UDT "Frogman".
When members of the Naval
Special Warfare community meet others who claim similar service, but
whom they do not recognize, there is a conversational exchange of
information that establishes the bona fides of each to the other. There
is no set formula for this exchange, nor for the information that is
exchanged, but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL Naval Special Warfare
members can ALWAYS spot a phony as a result of this exchange. If Mr. NEWINGHAM
persists in insisting that his SEAL claims are legitimate, I might
suggest that you ask him these questions:
(1) Since there is no listing
in the SEAL Database for the name you are currently using, WHAT NAME
DID YOU USE during SEAL training?
(2) What was his BUD/S Class
Number? (NB: No SEAL ever forgets the class number he shouted all
day long, every day, for 6 months)?
(3) Where did his
training take place? (NB: Training has been conducted at several
locations over the years; different portions in different places)?
(4) When did he graduate
from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training? (i.e. a specific
graduation DATE)?
(5) When did he enter
the US Navy (a specific month and year)?
(6) When did he leave
the US Navy (a specific month and year)?
(7) What was his Naval
Enlisted Classification code –NEC– or Naval Officer Billet Code –
NOBC?
There are many other questions
which could be asked to further establish the level of veracity or
untruth regarding his claims, such as asking for the names of other
members of his graduating class, but those basic questions are
absolutes. The answers to those questions are totally UNCLASSIFIED,
and every real SEAL will gladly provide that substantiating information
upon request.
I might suggest that you also
ask Mr. NEWINGHAM to specifically identify WHICH SEAL Team(s) he
served on, and when. I am in direct contact with several hundred of my
SEAL Teammates whose collective experience covers virtually all time
periods from the Korean War to the present; I can quickly contact those
individuals to verify any specific names, events, or other claims
offered by Mr. NEWINGHAM. If he feels that his name has somehow
been mistakenly omitted from the SEAL records, I’d be pleased to speak
with him and hear details of his service which would serve to validate
his claims. The Director of the Naval Special Warfare Archives – a
close personal friend and SEAL Teammate – is only a phone call away
and standing by to amend the records if this is ever found to be true.
However, I estimate that I’ve made the same offer to more than 5,000
SEAL imposters in the last eight years, and none of them ever turned out
to be a valid SEAL.
Before any classified
operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man must first
successfully complete the totally unclassified BUD/S Training program
and the follow-on secondary training program; the names of all those who
successfully graduate from that training program are compiled in the
SEAL database. Later participation in classified operations has no
impact on whether or not a person is listed as a graduate of the
training program. There are records of every man who has qualified for
the title of "SEAL"; there have been and will continue to be
secret missions, but there are NO secret SEALs… we know them all.
The important point to consider
in this matter is that Mr. NEWINGHAM has presented you (and
others you know) with false information. Whether his motivation was to
lend an air of respectability and credibility to an investment scheme,
for employment purposes, simple monetary gain, increased social status,
"dating" opportunities, public notoriety and celebrity status,
or simple ego-boosting attention, if your report regarding his claim of
being a SEAL is accurate it is clear that his personal ethics have not
prevented him making false statements about his background. If the man’s
personal ethics do not prevent him from offering such a false statement
about his background, you must ask yourself what other false statements
he might have made, or might be willing to make… including claims
regarding his investment plans.
Thank you again for your
concern in this matter, and for your assistance in upholding the honor
of the US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can be of any further assistance to you
in this matter, please contact me at your convenience.

Ex-Sailor Guilty of Pretending to Be an Admiral
Delaware Man Gave
Speech to Vietnamese American Group in Va.
Washington Post Staff Writers
Thursday, October 9, 2008; Page B01
He wore a short-sleeve Navy summer white uniform, crisp and
pressed. Had the black and gold shoulder boards of a rear admiral
and a chest full of ribbons and carried himself with the confidence
such a high rank bestows. He said he was a veteran who had served
all over the world, in Afghanistan, Kosovo, Iraq.
Last year, at a ceremony in Falls Church to commemorate the
Republic of Vietnam Armed Forces Day, Trung Huan Nguyen took the
stage and addressed a crowd of about 100 Vietnamese Americans.
Although he certainly seemed like the real thing,
there was something that wasn't quite right about the man in white.
No matter how perfect his uniform, or how plentiful his service and
personal decoration ribbons, some attendees were suspicious. They
checked him out. And yesterday, Nguyen pleaded guilty in U.S.
District Court in Alexandria to impersonating a Navy rear
admiral.
In truth, Nguyen, of Middletown, Del., was an enlisted man and
had been out of the Navy for 13 years.
Prosecutors said Nguyen's deceit went far beyond merely playing
the part of a highly ranked officer at the event, held at the Eden
Center in June 2007. They said that he kept a profile on
military.com that claimed he was commissioned into the Navy as a
medical doctor in 1985 and received special warfare training. In his
online biography, he played up his combat experience and said he had
served in the Persian
Gulf War, the global war on terrorism and the Iraq war.
The reality, prosecutors said, was that he was an E-4, a petty
officer third class, the equivalent of an Army corporal. He served
aboard the USS Missouri and the USS Constellation and at the Naval
Air Station at North Island San Diego. His Navy career lasted just
four years and ended with an honorable discharge.
Lawyer David Hubbard said his client told the judge that he
perpetrated the fraud because he had always wanted to be a naval
officer and could never get over the disappointment of not realizing
his dream.
"I think that he very much wanted to be in the officer corps
and that despite his best efforts, he was disappointed that he never
made it,'' Hubbard said. "That was just sort of his goal, in
the sense that maybe someone becomes a doctor and they really want
to specialize in pediatrics. He wanted to go into the Navy and be an
officer.''
Hubbard could not say why the military rejected Nguyen's request
but said he was honorably discharged. He said Nguyen, who is in his
early 40s, came to the United States from Vietnam and "joined
the military as a way to fit in in society, to find a place in
America.''
He added that Nguyen apologized to the judge and is "very
sorry for what he has done.''
When Nguyen showed up at the Eden Center last year, he spun a
tale that raised some eyebrows.
"Nguyen's charade collapsed when several of those in
attendance checked out his claim and determined it to be
false," according to a news release issued by prosecutors.
The Naval
Criminal Investigative Service investigated the case, and Nguyen
is facing a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $250,000
fine. He was released on a personal recognizance bond. As part of
his plea, he agreed to turn over any uniforms, insignias and
decorations he is not entitled to. He is also required to send in a
"mental health evaluation and treatment and waive all
confidentiality," according to court documents.
A Navy spokeswoman declined to comment last night, as did
prosecutors.
Nguyen's case follows that of a Louisiana man
who never served in the military but wore a full-dress captain's
uniform complete with a Navy Cross, Silver Star and Purple
Heart to his wedding in an effort to impress his wife. That man
was sentenced to a year of home confinement after pleading guilty a
week ago.

AS noted on the form the man was on active
duty from January 1971 to June
1973. Afterwards he was a reservist. Any tour of duty in Vietnam had to
occur during his active duty phase. The 101st Airborne (AB) Division
left
Vietnam in March 1972. A tour of duty usually lasted 13 months. Thus he
would have had to be there staring in April of 1971 if he claimed to
have
served the entire tour with the 101st AB. He couldn't have completed
basic
training (BCT) and Advanced Individual Training as listed in time. The
listing of assignments doesn't reflect any service outside of the
continental United States (OCONUS). The majority of his service was
apparently spent at Ent Air Force Base, with the Army Air Defense
Command,
located in downtown Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Regarding the NPRC representative's reference to FOIA I suspect it has
something to do with the note about a Court Martial transcript not being
in
the file. Apparently there was some military judicial actions taken
during
his service. I hope this review is helpful.

Vet admits wearing false medals
By CLAIR JOHNSON
Of The Gazette Staff
Carl Anthony Nissen claimed he had served 12 years in the U.S.
Marine Corps, served three tours of duty in Vietnam and earned numerous
medals and decorations, including the Silver Star. Trouble was, it
wasn't true.
Nissen, of Billings, pleaded guilty Thursday in federal court to a
misdemeanor charge of false wearing of medals. U.S. Magistrate Judge
Carolyn Ostby fined him $250, which he paid immediately.
Appearing on a summons, Nissen said he did not want an attorney. At
times barely audible, Nissen admitted he altered documents about his
military record and wore medals he didn't earn.
The case was part of a national investigation called Operation Stolen
Valor to investigate and prosecute those who lie about their military
service to receive financial benefits or for other reasons.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Fehr said that last December, the FBI in
Billings received a tip based on the national investigation that Nissen
was wearing ribbons and badges that he had not earned on his Marine
Corps dress blue uniform. Nissen allegedly wore these decorations on
numerous occasions while attending events sponsored by the local Marine
Corps League.
The FBI got a copy of his discharge documents and compared them with the
copy Nissen provided to the Marine Corps League. Nissen's document had
altered information, including his discharge date, decorations, medals,
badges, commendations, citations and campaign ribbons. The altered
document also claimed additional education and training, Fehr said.
Investigators found that Nissen had been interviewed for a story about
the fall of Saigon that appeared in The Billings Gazette in April 2005.
Nissen claimed in the story to have served three tours of duty in
Vietnam and to having served 12 years in the Marine Corps. Nissen
actually served three years in the Marine Corps and one tour of duty in
Vietnam, Fehr said. Nissen also falsely claimed to have served in
Operation Desert Storm.
The medals and decorations Nissen claimed to have been awarded included
the Silver Star, Combat Action Ribbon with two devices, Navy
Commendation with device, Navy Achievement Medal and Navy Unit
Commendation.
When interviewed, Nissen confessed to altering his discharge document.
He sent the medals he wore to the FBI along with a letter of apology,
Fehr said. Nissen did not use the altered document to obtain veterans'
benefits or preferences.
Nissen faced a possible penalty of six months in prison and a $5,000
fine. Fehr recommended the $250 fine.

Former judge dies in car crash
A car accident has claimed the life of former 16th Circuit Judge Michael
F. O'Brien.
O'Brien, 68, of Rockwall, Texas, and formerly of St. Charles, died
about 2 p.m. April 3 when the car he was driving entered the median on
Interstate 80 about 32 miles south of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, hit a culvert
and rolled over two or three times before coming to rest on its top,
according to the Iowa Highway Patrol.
His wife, Gail, was injured in the accident and was treated at the
University of Iowa Hospital. Hospital officials declined to give out any
information about her condition.
O'Brien spent 14 years as a 16th Circuit Court judge before stepping
down about a decade ago in the wake of charges he falsely portrayed
himself as a Medal of Honor winner.
At the time, O'Brien apologized for a 20-year ruse that he won the
medal, blaming a battle with alcoholism for affecting his judgment. The
situation came to light when he applied in 1992 for special Illinois
license plates for Medal of Honor winners.
He faced pressure from most of his fellow judges at the time, the
Illinois Courts Commission and even the state General Assembly, which
threatened to attempt impeachment.
"My error in personal judgment was my failing to admit — even
to close friends and family — that this, in fact, was not a true story
long after I had recognized and begun a lifelong battle with the disease
of alcoholism," O'Brien wrote in a statement in 1995......
O'Brien served in the Navy and graduated with a law degree in 1963
from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, with continuing education
at the National Judicial College.....

INVESTIGATION: A
Tampa case of stolen valor
TAMPA, FL -- An ABC Action News investigation has
uncovered a blatant violation of "The Stolen Valor Act of
2005," the federal law that makes it illegal for anyone to
fraudulently claim to have earned a medal of valor in military
service to the nation.
Marines live by a simple set of rules: "Duty, honor and
country" and "Once a Marine, always a Marine."
"Courage and Commitment are our core values,” says Lt.
General John Allen, the Deputy Commander of Central Command in
Tampa.
So when Angel Ocasio began showing up at Tampa area VFW's and
American Legion posts wearing his crisp, starched Marine Corps
uniform with the stripes of a Master Gunnery Sergeant and a
chest full of ribbons, retired Marines like Jack Skelding paid
attention.
"I have a Bronze Star, Purple Heart and Navy Cross,"
says Ocasio.......

UPDATE: Federal
authorities investigating 'stolen valor' case in Tampa
TAMPA, FL -- Federal prosecutors are on alert
following an ABC Action News investigation ( watch
the investigation) which uncovered a
Tampa man masquerading as decorated U.S. Marine.
Angel Ocasio has been showing up at Tampa Area VFW's
and American Legion halls wearing a clean, starched
dress blue Marine Corps Uniform sporting the rank of
a Sgt. Major and a chest full of some of the most
distinguished commendations a Marine can earn,
including the revered Navy Cross.
Amazingly, the Marine Corps tells us it has no
record of an Angel Ocasio.
“It's unconscionable. A Marine who wears this
uniform has paid a great price for this uniform,”
says Lt. General John Allen.......

Claims he was on a Navy boat in Vietnam and it
exploded and he is the only one who survived.
He stated he was in the Navy in Vietnam prior to his Reserve duty.
Says when his fellow Navy men were killed and he was wounded he went to
"sick bay" and so his family was never notified of his wounds.
Stated that all his records were lost in the St. Louis
fire. Then he said he worked for the VA and he destroyed all of his
documents. Then he claims he falsified his documents and is afraid of
getting caught because he went through such horrible times...he is so
traumatized he doesn't want to talk about his experiences. He speaks
of his buddies engaging in atrocities where one guy would walk and shoot any
woman he saw.

"I started out with Lco 75th Rangers 68-70. i returned to states
and wasnt happy hence returned to Vietnam. i was invited to be a medic
with members of SEAL Team 2. it was the beginning of Delta Force.
i took them up. i recieved a GSW to R knee about 10 months in tour after
my rehab it was off to California to the official school. the dive
training i recieved at the school was minimal because we did little
diving in Vietnam and that where i was headed
i was with SEAL Team 2 and then later 4.
1970-71 Vietnam
i also worked with several members in 84-86. we were civilians at the
time ( well not really civilians ) and were vacationing ( well not
really vacationing) in Honduras and spent our time training the Contras.
my favorite memory in my history was about 85. we were told to board a
C-130. we were not told the reason but we were leaving for another
Central American Country. we left Honduran Airspace at 0330 with 2
fighter escorts. After crossing over El Salvadorian airspace with in 30
minutes later we were told this was only a training mission and we
returned to base. i found out later; two nuns and a priest had been
captured by a gurrelia group. the preist had been killed during the
rebels attack but the two nuns were realeased as soon as they found out
a miltary group was on the way to rescue them.
the reason i like this is not one shot was fired but the threat alone
was enough to accomplish the mission"

http://www.nursinglink.com/topics/7152-how-do-you-handle-stress/posts
There are two types of stress for me:
Short term and long term;
As far as short term. I seem to do ok. I
am a former Navy Seal and Ernurse times 25 years. I am a
firefighter and also a member of Dive Rescue. With short term stress I
can block it and complete the mission; simply goal oriented. This does
cause some stress on the marriage though because I find myself blocking
her at times. An example is I have taped NASCAR Races on some Sundays
and as soon as I got off work went into the study turned in on surround
sound. My wife told me, “You walk in door and don’t say hi to me or
kids and go to study and turn us out”.
I told her, “don’t take offense or take it
personal but I have had all the damn people I can take for
today------give me just one hour and I will be back”. I just need
about an hour
That’s not good
Long term stress is killing me. I have only 40%
hearing in my ears due to loud noises in the military. I have had a
heart cath and got rooted out. My Bp is getting out of sight and I take
0.5 of Xanax to sleep at night. Needless to say I now have to take
Cialis on a rare occasion. I have had a GSW to R knee in military and
after 3 surgeries I am wearing down.
It ain’t all bad. I doubt my stress is worse than
the rest of yawl’s. I work out at a gym regular. I am 6-0 and 212. My
hobby is power lifting. I am madly in love with my wife and kids and of
course grandkids now. My wife and I now take escapes. Our kids are 22,
24 and 26. if they need to get us they can call 911 and I have a pager
otherwise they don’t need to know. My wife and I get couples massages
also and love them. We think they are therapeutic and also sensual if in
imagination only. I love aroma therapy.
This former Navy Seal
has a whirlpool and I love my Vaseline intensive care granules and
cotton blossom soap. We float the Buffalo River in west Tn on occasions.
Have a great day dave

Dear POW
Network,
Please pass this information along
in response to the inquiry regarding Mr. DAVID
A. ORMAN.
To Whom It May Concern:
I greatly appreciate your interest
in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams, and your search for
the TRUTH. Before answering your questions I must make clear that I am
a private individual, not affiliated with the US Dept. of Defense or
any other government organization. My efforts to expose SEAL imposters
are performed as a service to the public, and in honor of my SEAL
Teammates who gave their lives in service to our nation… men who
truly earned the right to the title “US NAVY SEAL” but who are no
longer able to stand forward in defense of their honor, their
reputations, and their TEAMs.
If
the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT
find a listing in the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the Present Day)
for anyone named DAVID
A. ORMAN.
I have also examined possible alternate spellings, and names with
similar pronunciations without finding any that appear to be
applicable. In fact there is no one listed in the SEAL Database with
the last name “ORMAN”.
Unless
he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an
action for which there would be evidence in the form of court
documentation) since his claimed attendance at BUD/S training, and
based upon the information you have provided, I
can state conclusively that DAVID A. ORMAN has NEVER COMPLETED SEAL
training, and he is not now, nor was he ever a Navy SEAL or a Navy UDT
“Frogman”.
When members of the Naval Special
Warfare community meet others who claim similar service, but whom they
do not recognize, there is a conversational exchange of information
that establishes the bona fides of each to the other. There is no set
formula for this exchange, nor for the information that is exchanged,
but it ALWAYS takes place, and the REAL Naval Special Warfare members
can ALWAYS spot a phony as a result of this exchange. If you have an
opportunity to speak with the man at some point in the future, I might
suggest that you ask Mr. ORMAN these
questions:
(1) Since there is no listing in
the SEAL Database for the name you are currently using, WHAT
NAME DID YOU USE during SEAL training?
(2) What was his BUD/S Class
Number? (NB: No SEAL ever forgets the class number he
shouted all day long, every day, for 6 months)
(3) Where
did his training take place? (NB: Training has been conducted at
several locations over the years; different portions in different
places)
(4) When
did he graduate from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S)
training? (i.e. a specific graduation DATE)
(5) When
did he enter the US Navy (a specific month and year)
(6) When
did he leave the US Navy (a specific month and year)
(7) What
was his rank at the time
he left military service (including Naval Enlisted Classification code
–NEC– or Naval Officer Billet Code – NOBC)
There are
many other questions which could be asked to further establish the
level of veracity or untruth regarding his claims, such as asking for
the names of other members of his graduating class, but those basic
questions are absolutes. The
answers to those questions are totally UNCLASSIFIED, and every real
SEAL will gladly provide that substantiating information upon request.
I might suggest that you also ask
Mr. ORMAN to
specifically identify WHICH SEAL Team(s) he served on, and when. I am
in direct contact with several hundred of my SEAL Teammates whose
collective experience covers virtually all time periods from the
Korean War to the present; I can quickly contact those individuals to
verify any specific names, events, or other claims offered by Mr. ORMAN.
If he feels that his name has somehow been mistakenly omitted from the
SEAL records, I’d be pleased to speak with him and hear details of
his service which would serve to validate his claims. The Director of
the Naval Special Warfare Archives – a close personal friend and
SEAL Teammate – is only a phone call away and standing by to amend
the records if this is ever found to be true. However, I estimate that
I’ve made the same offer to more than 5,000 SEAL imposters in the
last eight years, and none of them ever turned out to be a valid SEAL.
No one gets to
the SEAL Teams without first completing BUD/S Training. There are
records of every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”;
there have been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are
NO secret SEALs… we know them all.
Thank you again for your concern
in this matter, and for your assistance in upholding the honor of the
US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can be of any further assistance to you in
this matter, please contact me at your convenience.

If
the name you provided is spelled correctly, I do NOT
find a listing in the SEAL Database (end of WWII to the Present Day)
for anyone named DENNIS
E. OUELLETTE/OUELETTE.
I have also examined numerous possible alternate spellings, and looked
for names with similar pronunciations without finding any that appear
to be applicable. In point of fact there is only one man with the last
name “OUELLETTE”
listed in the entirety of the SEAL Database, and that one man
graduated from SEAL Training in 1991. I estimate he might be close to
40 years old at the present time. That one man was very likely born
about the time the Vietnam War ended for the Navy SEALs (Nov 1972),
and most certainly did NOT fight in that war.
Unless
he has undertaken the unlikely action of a legal name change (an
action for which there would be evidence in the form of court
documentation) since his claimed attendance at BUD/S training, and
based upon the information you have provided, I

the REAL Naval Special Warfare members can ALWAYS spot a phony as a
result of this exchange. If Mr. OUELLETTE/OUELETTE
persists in insisting that his SEAL claims are legitimate, I might
suggest that you ask him these questions:
(1) Since
there is no listing in the SEAL Database for the name you are
currently using, WHAT NAME DID YOU
USE during SEAL training?
(2) What
was his BUD/S Class Number?
(NB: No SEAL ever forgets the class number he shouted all day long,

the Naval Special Warfare Archives – a close personal friend and

I’ve made the same offer to more than 5,000 SEAL imposters in the
last eight years, and none of them ever turned out to be a valid SEAL.
Before
any classified operations may be undertaken as a SEAL Operator, a man
must first successfully complete the totally unclassified BUD/S
Training program and the follow-on secondary training program; the
names of all those who successfully graduate from that training
program are compiled in the SEAL database. Later participation in
classified operations has no impact on whether or not a person is
listed as a graduate of the training program. There are records of
every man who has qualified for the title of “SEAL”; there have
been and will continue to be secret missions, but there are NO secret
SEALs… we know them all.
One
other note: the men who wear the “Trident” don’t write their
military acronym using punctuation marks – “S.E.A.L.” The
acronym is derived from THREE words, not FOUR. The letters of the
acronym stand for “SEa,
Air, and Land”,
and are always written as “SEAL”.
If Mr. OUELLETTE/OUELETTE has used the unit acronym in the manner you
report, then it is obvious that he has no personal experience with the
unit, as a SEAL or in any other way.
The
important point to consider in this matter is that Mr. OUELLETTE/OUELETTE
has presented you (and others you know) with false information.
Whether his motivation was for employment purposes, monetary gain,
increased social status, “dating” opportunities, or personal
notoriety, if your report regarding his claim of being a SEAL is
accurate it is clear that his personal ethics have not prevented him
making false statements (in writing) about his background. If
the man’s personal ethics do not prevent him from offering such a
false statement about his background, you must ask yourself what other
false statements he might have made, or might be willing to make.
Thank you again for your concern in this matter, and for your
assistance in upholding the honor of the US Navy SEAL Teams. If I can
be of any further assistance to you in this matter, please contact me
at your convenience.

Madison man gets prison for ID theft of
Down syndrome man
MADISON.COM
Kevin Murphy
Correspondent for The Capital Times
July 22, 2008
A Madison man who posed as a BBC reporter
in a scheme to obtain credit cards in the name of a young man with Down
syndrome was sentenced Tuesday in federal court to four years and six
months in prison and ordered to repay $25,763 to four victimized banks.
District Judge Barbara Crabb called J.
Richard Outhier, 37, a "pretty scary individual."
"You prey on vulnerable persons to
finance a lifestyle by illegitimate means," Crabb said to Outhier.
Outhier previously admitted to using an
"identity broker" in 2006 to get the name of a Boston woman
active in Down syndrome awareness then, under the guise of interviewing
her for a news story, verified her son's birth date and Social Security
number, which he had obtained from the broker.
Using the son's personal information and
duplicate copies of his birth certificate, Outhier obtained a Social
Security number and then credit cards from U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo
Bank. Outhier used the man's identity to obtain a bank loan to purchase
a 1999 Saab in January 2007, said Assistant U.S. Attorney David Reinhard.
The Boston woman only learned of
Outhier's scam when she received an overdue bill from a credit card
company and a benefits statement from Claddagh's Irish Pub in Middleton,
where Outhier had worked, said Reinhard.
Outhier also worked as an emergency
medical technician in Cottage Grove this fall while authorities in
Wyoming were putting together a credit card fraud case involving losses
in excess of $100,000, said Reinhard.
Outhier has been "enmeshed in a
criminal lifestyle," since he was 21, Crabb said. He
was court-martialed from the Navy after impersonating a Navy SEAL in
1993. In 1994, he was convicted of criminal impersonation in Colorado,
and later he was convicted in a federal court of issuing worthless
checks.
While Outhier worked as an emergency room
employee in Ft. Worth, Texas, he stole personal information from
patients to obtain credit cards in their names and charged about $23,000
on their cards, Reinhard said.
His mother reported that Outhier
"cleaned out her bank account," in the early 1990s, Reinhard
said.
Outhier apologized to the court and his
victims and asked Crabb to recommend that he serve his sentence as close
to Madison as possible.
Crabb imposed a sentence near the top of
the applicable guideline range on three counts of credit and bank fraud
telling Outhier that he seems to "take pride and satisfaction in
your ability to con people. Anyone who comes in contact with you should
be on guard.

Claims
USMC, Korean War POW, held 7 months, escaped with 148 others. Claims he and 6
other men from the "special forces," were part of a
"deal." Claims "It makes Watergate look like a tea
party." Bigger than JFK.

==============================
He says he was a
POW for 7 months and 6 days. He also claims to have liberated himself
and 148 other POW's. He claims to have been awarded the bronze star, 2
silver stars, navy and marine corp medal, & 4 purple hearts. He has
NO paperwork (lost in the fire he claims) and has said he turned down
his veteran benefits. He says he was a Sgt. stationed at San Diego, CA
then shipped to Korea. He also claims to be a member of the special
forces. For 26 years I have been proud of this man. He wears his
ribbons and displays his medals. His 9 yr old grandson is also very
proud of him and determined to be a Marine. Is he a fake? How can I
find out for sure? Can you help at all? Please let me know
something.
.... he is carrying around a fake DD214
with the name Jacques Marcel on it. He made this fake form
himself to stay with the VFW # 6678...
... know how I could go about having his name
removed from the plaque in Mannford, OK (its for his time as a POW big
laugh huh)...
.....
we got the records, thank you. I am going to mail you his
"story" & the DD214 & I would like you to post him
on your web-site. The truth should be known. Thank you
again for all your help in this, I now know that this lie WILL NOT go
any farther in this town or in this family. I am going to try
and get his name removed off the wall in Mannford, there has to be a
way to get it done.
Please feel free
to post any of my letters to you on your web site, people should know
how badly one man's lies can tear his daughter & 9 year old
grandson to pieces.
